PLOFILE
1979年、東京藝術大学大学院修了。「安宅賞」受賞。
ロン=ティボー、ヴィエニアフスキ、ミュンヘンなどの国際コンクールに入賞。
イザイ・メダル、ボルドー音楽祭金メダル受賞など国際的に活躍。’84年に東京藝大に迎えられるとともに本格的な演奏活動を開始。’90年、澤クヮルテットを結成。’96年より指揮活動を開始。東京藝術大学音楽学部教授、学部長を経て’16年〜’22年まで東京藝術大学長。現在、東京藝術大学および英国王立音楽院名誉教授。昭和音楽大学客員教授。東京大学先端科学技術研究センター・フェロー。響ホール室内合奏団ミュージック・アドヴァイザー。日本演奏連盟理事長。
学長メッセージ
福岡県で唯一の、新しい4年制の音楽大学が誕生します。演奏家や教員だけでなく、医療・福祉、ゲームやアニメなどのコンテンツ産業にも活躍の場を広げ、音楽の力を社会に還元できる人材を育てます。福岡県に音楽を本格的に学べる大学があることで、経済的理由などで進学を諦めかけた人にも新たな選択肢が生まれます。
指導については、国内外で活躍する一流の教授陣に加え、九州唯一のプロオーケストラ「九州交響楽団」と連携し、メンバーによる指導や合奏授業への協力など、実践の場が用意されています。さらに福岡はアジアへの玄関口で、国際的な交流の可能性も広がります。
また、新たな学びとしての「音楽療法」にも注力します。音楽が心身に良い影響を与えることは実感されつつ、科学・医学的な裏づけや制度整備は発展途上です。私たちは医療・福祉の現場を持つ学校法人であることを活かし、実地で学びながらエビデンスを積み重ねていく予定です。
音楽への情熱を持ち、「自分の音楽で人を幸せにする」という思いを大切に、新しい音楽人を一緒に目指していきましょう。
President Sawa’s Comments:
Fukuoka Prefecture's solo new four-year music university is about to be launched. It will cultivate individuals capable of contributing to society through the power of music, expanding their scope of activity beyond performers and educators to include fields such as healthcare and welfare, as well as content industries like games and animation. The presence of a university in Fukuoka Prefecture where music can be studied seriously will also create new options for those who had considered giving up on further education for financial reasons. Regarding instruction, alongside a faculty of leading professors active both domestically and internationally, we have established practical opportunities through collaboration with the Kyushu Symphony Orchestra, the region's only professional orchestra. This includes guidance from its members and their involvement in ensemble classes. Furthermore, Fukuoka's location as a gateway to Asia expands possibilities for international exchange. We will also focus on 'music therapy' as a new field of study. While the positive impact of music on mind and body is increasingly recognized, scientific and medical validation and institutional frameworks remain under development. Leveraging our status as an educational institution holding healthcare and welfare facilities, we plan to accumulate evidence through practical, on-the-ground learning. Let us pursue rearing new musicians together, being driven by a passion for music and cherishing the aspiration to 'bring happiness to others through our own music'.

福岡県大牟田市出身。東京藝術大学音楽学部附属音楽高校、同大学、大学院博士課程修了。東京藝術大学の西洋音楽分野では最初の博士号取得者。演奏のみならず、研究や評論の分野でも活躍。「スクリャービン生誕125周年音楽祭」(モスクワ)や「ショパン没後150年国際音楽祭」(ワルシャワ)等に招かれ、演奏、講演を行う。校訂楽譜『スクリャービン・ピアノ曲全集』(春秋社)は、国立スクリャービン博物館に所蔵されている。東京藝術大学非常勤講師、京都市立芸術大学助教授、東京音楽大学教授・副学長などを経て、福岡国際音楽大学副学長。

福岡国際音楽大学は新しい、開かれた音大です。それぞれの分野で活躍する一流の講師陣からきめ細かな指導が受けられ、国内外の著名なアーティストと交流する機会もあります。学内外で演奏や作品を発表する機会も豊富です。
さらにICT、語学の教育にも力を入れています。音楽、ICT、英語の組み合わせは各自の選択次第。ICTスキルは世界との交信を、英語は世界との交流を飛躍的に拡げます。音楽のみならずビジネスへの道も開けていきます。
福岡から、全国へ、世界へ、「すべての人に音楽を」発信していきましょう。
President Okada’s Comments:
Fukuoka International University of Music is a new, open-minded university.
Students receive meticulous guidance from leading professionals who are active in their
respective fields, alongside opportunities to interact with renowned artists from Japan
and abroad. There are also abundant opportunities to perform and present works both on
and off campus.
Furthermore, the university places strong emphasis on ICT and language education. The combination of music, ICT, and English is entirely up to each individual. ICT skills dramatically expand your connections with the world, while English dramatically expands your interactions with it. This opens pathways not only in music but also in business.
From Fukuoka, to the whole country, to the world, let us spread "Music for Everyone."
PLOFILE
1981年3月武蔵野音楽大学卒業。東京シティフィルハーモニック管弦楽団ホルン奏者、群馬交響楽団ホルン奏者を経て、1989年NHK交響楽団ホルン奏者として入団。その後事務職に転向しNHK交響楽団ライブラリアン、インスペクター、事業部担当部長、演奏制作部部長を歴任。2022年6月NHK交響楽団退職後、7月より九州交響楽団音楽主幹。2025年6月九州交響楽団音楽主幹退任後、現在音楽顧問。
副学長メッセージ
これまで福岡県には4年制の音楽大学がありませんでした。
福岡や九州には、才能溢れる優秀な若者がたくさんいます。
これまで音楽を学ぶために、地元を離れる人が後を絶ちませんでした。
でもこれからは太宰府の地で、優秀な講師陣の元で音楽の真髄を学ぶことができます。音楽は、人の心を豊かにし、文化を創造する力を持っています。
福岡国際音楽大学では、創造性を育み世界に通用する人たちを育成することを目指します。教職員、関係者の皆様と共に、この大学の発展のために尽力してまいりたいと思います。

President Watanabe’s Comments:
Until now, Fukuoka Prefecture has lacked a four-year music university. Fukuoka and Kyushu are home to many talented and gifted young people. Countless individuals have had to leave their local area to pursue musical studies.
From now on, in Dazaifu, they can learn the essence of music under an outstanding faculty. Music possesses the power to enrich the human spirit and create culture.
Fukuoka International University of Music aims to nurture creativity and cultivate individuals capable of succeeding on the global stage. Together with our faculty, staff, and all stakeholders, we shall strive wholeheartedly for the development of this university.
